Cooper, Dame Gladys
(18 dic. 1888, Lewisham, Londres, Inglaterra–17 nov. 1971, Henley-on-Thames, Oxfordshire).

Actriz británica. Después de su debut en Londres en 1906, actuó en musicales y en obras dramáticas como La importancia de llamarse Ernesto (1911). Codirigió el Teatro Playhouse de Londres (1917–27) y después fue su única directora (1927–33). Su actuación en La segunda Sra. Tanqueray (1922) la convirtió en estrella. Debutó en los escenarios de EE.UU. en The Shining Hour (1934), y después actuó en Relative Values (1951) y Mujer sin pasado (1955). Personificó la serenidad británica en películas estadounidenses como La extraña pasajera (1942) y Mesas separadas (1958).
